Acquisitions at Rhinebeck:
From Brooks Farm: (To make two shawls - blue for me, tan for mom for christmas - and no she doesn't read this!)
Sock yarn from Spirt Trail Fiberworks:
My drop spindle and roving:
A hat: (missing the glove photo right now!)
There was more. A swift. Some presents. Also my ruana from Moonshine Designs (click "ruana". I also got the same brooch as shown there, only at another booth!) i thought i took photos of everything, but then my head isn't right with these allergies.
I probably would have bought more if i hadn't purchased these in the last month or so:
From Seaport Yarns: a Great Adirondack Yarn (now discontinued!)
Also a Blue Heron Yarn in a colorway only available at Seaport:
And that day in Princeton?
a Colinette Ab Fab kit in a new colorway:
Hence no more yarn for me.... for a while anyway!
OK that should keep the photo mongers at bay for a while.
I started a shawl for the OTHER wedding that i am in out of the Great Adirondack yarn. I have two skeins, and was almost done with one, only with not nearly half a shawl. I sent an email to seaport, but i think that quest is in vain. I asked about it at Rhinebeck (knowing i couldn't get the same dyelot!) and the whole line of yarns was discontinued. :( the style is called "peek-a-boo" - a strand of mohair, a strand of glittery poly, and a strand of nylon yarn.
So i was at a loss about what i should do. then sunday morning i got up after only hitting snooze 3 times (instead of 20) (i was meeting my friend for the road trip) and had a moment worthy of the YarnHarlot who often gets up in the middle of the night to tackle knitting quandries.
A capelet!
I already started it again, and it should work out perfectly! (uh oh. with the yarnharlot's determined optimism comes ultimate doom! better knock on wood....)
The Blue Heron yarn may be my winter hat and scarf. or i may make that out of the Noro from the SSRP. One can never have too many, right? (of course one must move her ass to get it done before spring!!!)
Somehow i was so blog-productive today i wrote both this and the last entry on tues.... to space out the updates (and not freak anyone out all at once!) i set this to publish a day later! not bad!
whew. don't expect to see photos of any new yarn because i don't expect to be buying any. ;o) (cross your fingers for some FOs though!)
I'm so glad that you have come to understand that the Yarn harlot midnight solution has drawbacks. Your haul is lovely, I'm wild about the tan Brooks farm. How did I knit for this long without knowing about them?
