gas to drive there - (based on mileage reimbursement) = $38.25
parking garage fee = $7.00
coffee and bagel = $3.50
stress of preparing last minute reports for three days = unknown health costs
stress that i almost carpooled with someone who ended up having a serious car accident and didn't make it to the meeting (he's ok) = blessing my lucky stars
driving myself and singing along to music to keep me awake = offsetting the health impacts from the stress
getting out by lunch time and stopping in princeton where i find a great vegetarian restaurant right next to a local yarn store-
PRICELESS!!!!!!
(i came home very happy!! photos of recent yarn acquisitions coming soon.....)
also due to my continuing to shop and buy yarn and my lack of actual knitting progress..... i am afraid i must. i am on a yarn diet. sigh. i have so many events coming up that i won't be able to make it to any of the knitting congregations (stitches east, rhinebeck sheep and wool, or anything) - but considering how broke i am right now, it's for the best.
knitting will pick up as it gets colder. but i hereby forbid myself to buy any more yarn before 2005 UNLESS it is to finish a project already started or for QUICK gifts (babies, xmas, etc)
depending on how much i accomplish with creating stuff from my stash, i may extend this diet into january. i am also hiding in a cave (my apt) for the month of january because having 5 months of non-stop action (weddings holidays outoftown guests et al) is stressing me so much that only the dreams of a month of sitting at home and knitting on the weekends is keeping me going!!! so i plan on making major progress then.
ok - off for another weekend. one event has been cancelled, so now it's just a bridal shower... although friends going to said shower have parties afterward that they invited me too....... and i have a date with the laundromat.....
Hey, said friend having party after shower... the party is in January, ok-technically December, but when you are hungover from said party you can knit to your heart's content! Haha!

i meant the parties for saturday night - one was cancelled for weather, then on again, but it was too cold. A and K invited me to see them play, but i didn't have the energy. those are the said parties - not your new years. and that technically begins in 2004, so it can last into 2005, but no NEW parties or obligations! ;o)
