I was here!! Mt. Shuksan and Picture Lake in the Mount Baker Wilderness, Washington, USA
Hello again!
Thanks for the kind thoughts about Pele - she is doing better. She has some form of kidney disease - either an infection (which can be cleared up and is a one-time thing) or kidney failure, which cats can live with for many years with careful monitoring. She stayed at the vets while I was away, and her creatinin levels are much lower - still above normal but great compared to what it was over a week ago! She gained a little weight back, is picky about food but still eating, and hopefully we won't be back at the vets until next saturday for a checkup on her creatinin levels!
I had a great time with 22 friends and strangers from the Veggie Board (VB) at a rural farm in Acme Washington! We saw Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan, (stood on the snow in sandals!) went on hikes, toured vineyards, laughed, cried, hugged, henna-ed, beaded, and a great time was had by all! Hope that next year we do one in this area to share the love wiht the east coasters!
I had brought along tons of books and knitting - thinking I'd be stuck out in the woods with strangers and what if i hated them? (Perish the thought!) As it was, I didn't get much done at all! a few rows on the plane and here and there, and I taught the owner of the B&B how to knit. There were several other knitters in the group, but we were just so busy that we barely broke out the needles!
I'm off to catch up on some blog reading, but I'll be around now so I'll see you later -
What a beautiful picture!
I am glad to hear that you had such a nice time and that Pele is on the mend!
