wow this week flew by! i am very busy at work, so i haven't had much time to post.
on the knitting front - i took off the WIP list the shawl for Melissa's wedding. my mom pointed out there is enough red in the brown multi-fiber shawl to wear it at both. or if she goes with a cooler color scheme i could wear charlotte. her mom has bought bolero jackets for all of us for the church, but i'll probably wear a shawl after the ceremony.
everytime i am looking at blogs i see the photo of the brown shawl - and want to work on it to bask in the gorgeous yarn!! but first things first. i am finishing the baby sweater - i'd like to mail it for the shower (which i'll miss because i'll be camping) on august 8. i have just the border of the bottom (11 rows!) to go, and then i have to seem and finish. i haven't really seamed before except the kitchener handle on the FMB.... i'll have to pull out a book. the sweater came out larger - i either didn't measure my gauge or it got looser.... good think threadbear sent me one more skein than what it called for!
speaking of my WIP chart - they aren't coming up on my page. my page says it's still loading forever, maybe i'm just not patient enough? (who - me?? never!)
my brother's fiance will be arriving shortly if she hasn't already - she is moving from florida to NJ and is driving up with her stuff. i can't wait to meet her! it will probably be monday night (dinner since it's my brother's birthday!)
other than that, not much happening. pele is eating better - still not as much as she used to. she is also very stubburn about taking the pills. i was using the pill popper - tube thing to put them in the back of her mouth, but found it easier to just "throw" it in. at least it's easier once i get her mouth open! she camps her jaws shut and i have to pry them opening, while worrying that i am hurting her. argh. she goes to the vet saturday for check up and if she needs to receive subcutaneous fluids at home, they will show me how to do it. yeah right - the only needles i like are the ones for knitting! my friend K is awesome enough to go with me. i may have to give her a dinner once a week to get her over here and do it for me. he he he!! i also promised her a scarf or hat for taking good care of josephine while i was away. (i'm thinking she may like a kitty hat from SNB. i may have to ask her. or she may just read this and tell me what she wants! i also have to run the yarn by her - she doesn't wear wool, but i think i have enough of a tencel/cotton blend to make something)
speaking of K and camping - we are going together and we will be cooking on this bad boy -
it will be a vegetarian only grill!! i can't wait to try out some cool recipes!
i received the Snob Stash Redistribution Project, and got some cool stuff!! (my stuff was nice but cheaper, so i put a lot more skeins in than i took out, but i looked up prices and i was dead even!) I got rid of the red mohair stuff (i forget what it was!) that was meant for the shawl for melissa's wedding, a bag of lana d'oro that was not the color i expected, and the sherberty alpaca wool for the striped sweater from knitty (all yarns/projects previously shown on this blog.) i got a bag of noro silk garden (the black-purple-green colorway) and some other stuff that i never heard of but is so soft and fluffy... in a goldenrod and a pumpkin color. i'll take photos of them eventually. i also took a random skein of chunky stuff for a scarf (a "goodwill" donation - doesn't need to be "swapped". but i also added three pattern books for goodwill.)
sharon was talking about comments and sharing/returning the love. in case i didn't respond to your comments in an email or here, i want to say thank you for visiting me!! i feel horribly inadequate since i am not as eloquent or witty as some people, i don't knit as much or have as much knowledge as some people, and i don't even post regularly. this blog is as much for myself (a diary, a project record for knitting, etc.) as it is for everyone else - but i do appreciate the audience! so big hugs to everyone reading!
happy knitting -
