rock chick is reading "candy" by steve almond - and posted this on her blog:
"...we don't choose our freaks, they choose us. I don't mean this as some kind of hippy dippy aphorism about the power of fate. We may not understand why we freak on a particular food or band or sports team. We may have no conscious control over our allegiances. But they arise from our most sacred fears and desires and, as such, they represent the truest expression of our selves."
i love it! so the question today is - what's your freak????
mine is knitting (currently - but my hobby/creative freaks are always mutating!), tori amos, neil gaiman. those are the big ones. but it makes perfect sense that i didn't CHOOSE to be an obsessed tori fan - it just happened!!
get your freak on -
later
I knew there had to be other Neil Gaiman/Knitting freaks out there!

I freak on color, on folk music, on dancing where people actually get to touch each other, knitting of course, fiction, and..sigh...chocolate.

Great freaks, I'm with you on all of them! Mine rotate, it seems like from minute to minute. At this minute I'm freaking on the Phenomenauts, Neil (re-reading all the Sandman books), and, as always, back roads and wandering.
