ok. go look at the WIP album to the right. Click on the "Dream alpaca shawl".
Now - give me ideas of what to do with 600 yds of this alpaca.
I started making my own pattern - just a 2x2 rib. but i stopped to figure out how long it would be with the size i had started. it was not going to work.
i frogged it (i hated doing it, but i want a lovely finished product!)
i want a shawl, that's the only constraint, plus keep it under 600 yards.
hey - let's make this a contest!!! i will give a prize from my yarn stash to whoever comes up with the pattern i end up using!! the pattern must include finsihed dimensions based on a gauge.
i am willing to pay for a pattern as well. and i would like it to have some new stitches, beyond ss, but not TOO challenging!
ready.... set.... go!
I don't know how into "lace" you are, but if you follow this link" you will find not only a feather and fan/old shale lace pattern, but a bunch of others that might look really cute with the alpaca. There is also another version of the feather and fan lace pattern here. This pattern would also be adorable as a wrap as well. In fact, I've had it bookmarked for some time now because I'm waiting to find the right yarn the work this up with.
