Hiatus

In case you haven't noticed, I've been on hiatus from the henna biz.  A full time job and henna gigs several weekends a month burnt me out, and I have a new hobby taking up time.  I may consider the occasional gig, but right now nothing is planned. 

If you stopped by Wicked Faire '08, the henna artist there was Robin from Henna Rising.  She has been referenced as a henna fairy as well, which in most markets wouldn't be an issue, but since I worked at the first two faires it may be confusing. 

If you are looking for a local artist, I'd be happy to try to help you find one, and my first suggestion is to check Henna Page and Henna Tribe for artist directories as well as information about henna and how to get started in this addictive hobby!

I have a limited quantity of Jamila henna (I belive 07 crop, but possibly 06 - kept in freezer the whole time) for anyone interested in trying it out for hair or body art.  100 g boxes, $8 each (plus S&H)

Wicked Faire

I still have to download my photos, but I didn't get many as I was really busy with the henna and being the vendor coordinator! However, a wicked good time was had by all, and the wonderful photographer at MPR Productions got some shots of my work!  On his main page is a girl who looked amazing in green and gold, and I did glitter gilding on her face.  Thanks Michael!!!

 

So Wicked Faire... Ren meets Goth meets Pagan meets Fetish meets Pirates vs. Ninja*... something for everyone, except those with delicate sensitivities! But it was a great time. I ran around a lot (as vendor coordinator), henna'ed a lot, and shopped a lot.... came home overly exhausted, with lots of booty and still some cash left.

Watch for a date/new location for next year.

(I've always been on the pirate side, but even more so now as I realize ninjas make poor henna customers, no exposed skin!! heeeheee)

Winter Update

Yes I'm still alive! I apologize for the lack of updates - I had the fall rush, and some private events over the winter, but no huge events, and not many photos!

But please come out to see me at Jeff Mach's Wicked Faire!  This is an indoor winter ren faire, with a twist... ;o)  Ages 16 and up only! Over 100 vendors, 4 performance areas, and we expect over 2,000 attendents based on last year (which, was the first year, and coincided with a blizzard!)

I'll be in the main ballroom slinging henna and glitter all day long! Hope to see you there!
